We’re forever in debt to our friends Miriam and Dustin for introducing us. We first met at Dustin’s birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese in Durham. We awkwardly chatted over both skee ball and basketball until closing time at 9 p.m. We decided to extend the date by grabbing a drink at The Pinhook in downtown Durham. Dylan asked for Kristen’s phone number at the end of the evening and February 17, 2014 is now a date that we’ll always remember.
We continued to date, enjoying the best of both Chapel Hill and Durham. The Durham Bulls opening night, Easter at Duke Gardens, shows at Carolina Theatre and Local 506 were some of our favorites.
In July 2016, Dylan asked Kristen to a getaway with “pack a swimsuit” as the only instructions. On Friday evening, Dylan treated Kristen to a magical dinner at The Chef & The Farmer in Kinston, NC. The next morning, we enjoyed a walk on Topsail Island’s beach, ice cream, and a trip to the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital. Though Kristen had just gotten her hair done, we decided to swim in the ocean and then take a walk on the shore. At sunset, Dylan asked Kristen to be his wife and she said yes.
